Free tools and open space, for every community that wants to build.
Dream Beam is a nonprofit working to give communities free, local access to the tools, space, and resources to learn, create, and connect. Our first home is taking shape in Eugene, Oregon.
Creation & Innovation
A shared network of tools, tech, and space to build with, so no one has to buy expensive equipment alone.
Community
An open, welcoming commons that nurtures connection and expression for people of every age and background.
Sustainability
Recycling, clean energy, and closed-loop systems, designed with people and the planet in mind together.
We picture a world where every community has free, local access to good tools and good space to learn and create. As new technology comes along, design and building should stay open to everyone, not just a few.
Science, technology, engineering, art, and math, for makers of every age
Where we put our energy
Print anything, anywhere
Shared printers, laser cutting, and open file libraries, so a design made in one place can be built in another, the same day.
Material, given a second life
Plastic, metal, and offcuts can be reclaimed for the next build, instead of the landfill.
Hands-on skill, shared freely
Woodshop, metal shop, textiles, and electronics benches, with makers teaching makers what they know.
